The NFL took a smashing defeat in Federal Court today with Tom Brady’s Suspension overturned. Roger Goodell over-reached on this one and got burned, but, surely he’ll pass the blame to someone else. Should you gamble on who Goodell will blame for this? Absolutely, why wouldn’t you?
- Troy Vincent – 2/1 – Executive VP of something with the NFL. Vincent has been involved with this whole Deflate-gate controversy since the start. He wrote letters to the Patriots and Brady when this ball got rolling, so he seems an obvious candidate to take the fall for Goodell.
- Concussions – 5/1 – At this point, Goodell looks like a moron regardless of what happens from here on out, so, why not come out and say he’s suffering from second-hand symptoms of concussions?
- Will Smith – 15/1 – Brady was not un-suspended before the release of the trailer to Smith’s shitty looking concussion movie.
- Daughter of the Judge Who Finds Brady Dreamy – 6/1 – They’ll also place this blame without looking to see whether the Federal Judge has a daughter. Or Grand-Daughter, or, whatever child they wish to blame.
- Chris Mortensen – 4/1 – Why not blame Mort’s lousy reporting that he received from sources inside of the NFL on how all of this unfolded? Most NFL fans know two things: 1. Who Mort is; and 2. Nothing. Most of these idiots think Brady’s cheating was so egregious anyway, so, just continue to say that line of crap, blame the media for influencing the Judge and move on.
- Bad Lawyers – 2/1 – The NFL loves to claim their financial woes. Why not just say that the inequitable financial system of the NFL allowed for Brady to hire the best lawyers money could buy, but, did not allow for the NFL to compete on a level financial playing field when it came to hiring slimey lawyers? Again, most NFL fans are not intelligent and could very well believe this. At the very least, every gullible Washington Redskins fan will be on your side.
- Cris Carter – 3/1 – Cris Carter says everyone needs a fall guy. He said this to NFL players! Amazingly. Well, wouldn’t it be quite the story if it turns out that Carter is Goodell’s fall guy!?
Jeff Pash – This guy, without a wikipedia page, works for the NFL in some sort of capacity.
